The Defendant, Donald Clark, was charged with forcible rape, in violation of La.R.S. 14:42.1. After pleading not guilty and proceeding to a jury trial, the Defendant was convicted as charged. He was originally sentenced to forty years at hard labor which, upon reconsideration by the sentencing court, was reduced to twenty-five years, with the first ten to be served without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
