Howard appeals the denial of her 2000 application for supplemental security income benefits under Title XVI of the Social Security Act, wherein she claimed disability as a result of a heart condition, blood clots, and a bad knee.1 Social Security regulations implement a five-step sequential process to evaluate a disability claim.
