POSNER, Circuit Judge.

In 1964, David Bensky, a native-born citizen of the United States, became a citizen of Israel and enlisted in the Israeli army. The day before enlisting he went to the American embassy in Tel Aviv and signed an Oath of Renunciation of Nationality of the United States. The consular officer before whom Bensky signed the oath executed a Certificate of Loss of Nationality of the United States, certifying that Bensky had lost his U.S. citizenship...
