Deborah and Robert Neff, a divorced couple, are fighting over how much the latter ought to pay for two of their children's college educations. The district court found Robert had agreed to pay one-third but failed to do so, and ordered Robert to reimburse Deborah for money she had paid to compensate for his non-payment.
