A separation agreement between the plaintiff, Janet Knapp, and the defendant, Dennis Knapp, provided, inter alia, that the defendant would pay the plaintiff weekly alimony in the amount of $775 "until the first to occur of the following events: the death of either of the parties; five (5) years from the date of the [judgment of dissolution]; or the [plaintiff's] remarriage; or cohabitation, as defined by statute."
