William Dascombe sued Edward Hanley for injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle collision caused by Hanley, who was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Dascombe sought compensatory damages, medical expenses and punitive damages. The jury awarded Dascombe $10,000 in compensatory damages, and determined that punitive damages were not appropriate.
