In April 1999, nurses at Arkansas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (ANRC) in Texarkana, Arkansas failed to alert Artie Mae Stogsdill's treating physician to a significant change in her bowel condition that led to fatal septic shock. The administrators of Stogsdill's estate brought this malpractice action against Healthmark Partners, the owner of ANRC.
