¶ 1 Tomas Shane Madrid was convicted following a jury trial of first degree murder, theft of a means of transportation (the victim's car), and reckless burning (of that car).1 He appeals an order requiring him to pay restitution for travel, lodging, meal, and incidental expenses incurred by the victim's three children during the trial.
