Defendant, Anthony E. Victors, was charged by complaint on July 12, 2002, with committing the offense of domestic battery (720 ILCS 5/12-3.2(a)(2) (West 2002)). The complaint alleged that on July 12, 2002, he knowingly made physical contact of a provoking nature with the victim, Veronica DelValle.
