Marcus Alan Skaggs was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation of § 13A-12-213, Ala. Code 1975. Skaggs filed a pretrial motion to suppress evidence seized as the result of a traffic stop, namely, a cigar laced with marijuana found in his vehicle in a compartment located near the steering wheel.
