What began as a straightforward transaction has escalated into a frustrating dispute, which the district court attempted to resolve by applying arbitration principles. At issue is whether a certain appraisal constituted an arbitration under the Federal Arbitration Act ("FAA"), 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq.
