On February 9, 2001, the St. Charles Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging the defendant, Glenn Brooks, with one count of aggravated battery, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:34, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1. The defendant was arraigned on February 12, 2001, and pled not guilty to both charges.
