Defendant, Prince Franklin, was indicted by a grand jury on June 14, 2001 and charged with second degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. He pled not guilty and filed motions to suppress his statements, identification and evidence. The motions were denied after a hearing on December 13, 2001. Defendant proceeded to trial on June 18, 2002. After a three-day trial, the jury found defendant guilty as charged. Defendant was sentenced...
