In this defamation action, plaintiff Latrell Sprewell, a National Basketball Association player for the New York Knickerbockers basketball team (Knicks), sues defendants NYP Holdings, Inc., the publisher of the New York Post, and its sportswriter, Marc Berman, for allegedly libeling him in a series of articles published in October 2002 in the Post.
