I. INTRODUCTION

On August 15, 2000, plaintiff Eaton Corporation ("Eaton") filed this action against defendant Parker-Hannifin Corporation ("Parker") alleging willful infringement of claims 7 through 11 of U.S. Patent No. 5,226,682 (the "'682 patent").
