We granted certiorari in this case to determine whether a trial judge had jurisdiction to consider an out-of-time supplement to a timely filed motion for a new trial in a criminal matter, pursuant to Maryland Rule 4-331(2000), and, if so, whether the trial judge abused his discretion by denying the motion on the supplemental ground on its merits.
