On January 6, 2003, Franklin Cantrell filed a notice of appeal with this Court simultaneously with a notice of appeal to the Ninth Court of Appeals in Beaumont, Texas, regarding the trial court's denial of his application for habeas corpus relief under Article 11.08 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure.
