After the trial court denied his written motion to suppress evidence, Michael Dwain Effler pleaded guilty to the offense of possession of a controlled substance, to-wit: methamphetamine, in an amount greater than 400 grams. The trial court assessed appellant's punishment at confinement for a term of 35 years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and imposed a fine of $5,000.
