On October 17, 2002, Jessie Jones pawned his 2000 Pontiac Grand Am to Mayhall Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Mayhall Title Pawn ("Mayhall"), in exchange for $1,500.00. The transaction is what is known as a title pawn, that is, the debtor surrendered his automobile certificate of title to Mayhall, but he kept actual possession of the vehicle.
