The defendant, Ricardo Mills, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered following a jury trial, of assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59. On appeal, he claims that the trial court abused its discretion by denying his motion to introduce evidence of the dying declarant's prior convictions in violation of the defendant's right of confrontation.
