Appellants, Houston Lighting and Power Company (HL&P) and Houston Industries Finance, Inc., appeal the judgment of the trial court awarding actual damages of $1,175,193.88 to appellees, the cities of Wharton, Pasadena, and Galveston (the Cities), and a total of $13,683,181 in attorneys' fees in this dispute regarding the correct interpretation of franchise-fee agreements between the Cities and HL&P.
