In 2001, Reginald Demond Gray pled guilty to arson and was placed on deferred community supervision pursuant to a negotiated plea agreement. In 2003, Gray challenged the voluntariness of that plea in an application for writ of habeas corpus, filed pursuant to Article 11.08 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. See Tex. Code Crim. Proc.
