Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Insurance Company of the State of Pennsylvania (collectively defendants) appeal an opinion and award by the Full Commission of the North Carolina Industrial Commission filed 24 October 2001 awarding Shirley Parker (plaintiff) temporary total disability compensation.

In its opinion and award, the Full Commission found in pertinent part:
