WANDA McKEE FOWLER, Justice.

A jury found appellant John Patrick Prenger guilty of manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend's four-year-old son, Cody Barree. The child died of asphyxiation some time after appellant wrapped him in a blanket and secured it with belts at his chest and feet, apparently in an effort to control the child's behavior.
