Paul DesFosses applied for and was granted a deferment regarding repayment of his student loan obligations, but shortly thereafter he defaulted on the loans. Student Loan Fund of Idaho (SLFI) paid the lender and as assignee on the notes brought suit against DesFosses to recover the loan amounts, plus interest and costs.
