On June 2, 3003, the defendant was found guilty by a jury of one count of Unlawful Possession With the Intent to Distribute 50 Grams or More of Cocaine Base, in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(A)(iii). Prior to trial, the government notified the defendant that, if convicted, it would seek enhanced penalties under section 841(b)(1)(A) based on his 1991 conviction for a misdemeanor...
