I. INTRODUCTION

Autumn Doxsee sued her husband, Adrian,1 for injuries she sustained as a passenger in his vehicle. Adrian's insurance company provided him with an independent attorney to represent his interests and retained separate counsel to defend the case. A jury returned an award substantially lower than the defense's offer of judgment, and the trial court awarded attorney's fees...
