On February 7, 1994, plaintiff-appellant, Sister Carol Francis, individually and on behalf of her father, Jacob Francis, Sr. sued the defendants, Lafon Nursing Home of the Holy Family (Lafon) and the Sisters of the Holy Family1 (Sisters) claiming that Mr. Jacob was "mistreated, neglected and inappropriately discharged and his care was not provided adequately."
