On April 3, 2000, Ricky Bernard Trussell pled guilty to trafficking in marijuana. On June 26, 2000, the trial court sentenced him to serve a term of ten years in prison. It also enhanced his sentence by five years because he had possession of a firearm during the commission of the offense. See § 13A-12-231(13), Ala.Code 1975.
