This case arises out of the delivery of soil, which was discovered to contain solid pieces of transite,1 to numerous residents of Westlake, Louisiana. One hundred forty-three plaintiffs filed suit, alleging that they were exposed to asbestos derived from pieces of transite from abandoned houses near the Conoco refinery in Westlake.
