The defendant was convicted of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, G. L. c. 265, § 15B, and assault and battery, G. L. c. 265, § 13A. On appeal, he alleges that (1) the five indictments on which he was tried were improperly joined; (2) the Commonwealth's evidence was legally insufficient; (3) his motion for production of privileged Department of Social Services (DSS) documents was improperly denied; and (4) he received ineffective representation...
