Both employers, McDonald's Hamburgers ("McDonald's") and Wendy's International ("Wendy's"), appeal a judgment finding that the claimant, Lillie Ball, sustained occupational diseases and a work-related accident. The judgment awarded her indemnity benefits (temporary total disability and supplemental earnings benefits), casting McDonald's and Wendy's as joint obligors each liable for 50% of all such benefits accruing after September 30, 2000.
