On December 7, 2000, a Jefferson Parish grand jury indicted defendant, Terrance Royal, along with Gregory Lewis and Johnny White, for the second degree murder of Tahaira Chopin in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1.1 Defendant was also indicted for obstruction of justice in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:130.1. On December 15, 2000, defendant was arraigned on the charges and entered a plea of not guilty to both counts...
