The defendant, Tommy Beverly, was originally indicted for first degree murder in the shooting death of Monica Bradley. Pursuant to a plea bargain, he was allowed to plead guilty to attempted first degree murder and sentenced to 50 years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence.
