Defendant, James W. Gleason, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery in violation of La. R.S. 14:64.1 Defendant ultimately pled not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity and waived his right to a trial by jury. After the bench trial, he was found guilty as charged and subsequently sentenced to 30 years at hard labor without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
