Following a jury trial in the circuit court of Kane County, defendant, Willie C. McCoy, was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(1), (a)(2) (West 2000)), one count of attempted first-degree murder (720 ILCS 5/8-4(a), 9-1(a)(2) (West 2000)), and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm (720 ILCS 5/12-4.2(a)(1) (West 2000)) based upon accountability.
