HARRELL, Judge.

After a four-day trial in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Julius Collins, Petitioner, was convicted by a jury of first degree murder and related handgun offenses. On 11 May 2001, the trial judge imposed a sentence of life imprisonment for the murder conviction and twenty years, to be served consecutively, for the handgun offenses.
