Jenkins Brick Company ("Jenkins Brick") contemplated the idea of expanding its Alabama-based operations into the Savannah, Georgia area. John Bremer, a Savannah native who had spent many years working in the brick business that his family owned since 1914, proved to be an ideal candidate to help Jenkins Brick facilitate this expansion.
