Petitioner-appellant Alfred Lee Jones, an Alabama prisoner, appeals the dismissal of his habeas corpus petition as time-barred under the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 ("AEDPA"). Pub.L. No. 104-32, 110 Stat. 1214 (1996). The issue on appeal is whether the district court properly tolled the statute of limitations under the AEDPA.
