Dennis Roy Anderson pleaded guilty to attempted illegal reentry into the United States after deportation, in violation of 8 U.S.C. §§ 1326(a) and (b)(2), and received a 24-month sentence. Anderson contends that the district court should not have imposed the 12-level enhancement provided by U.S.S.G. § 2L1.2(b)(1)(B) because he had not previously been deported after a "conviction" within the meaning of that section.
