This appeal requires us to revisit the issue of the scope of appellate jurisdiction over a district court's remand decision under 28 U.S.C. § 1447(d). Plaintiffs originally filed this suit in state court under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against thirty-one separate defendants. All but two of the defendants then filed a notice removing the case to federal court pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1441(a)...
