Tracy Lee Booker was convicted of assault in the first degree, a violation of § 13A-6-20, Ala.Code 1975. He was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. However, pursuant to the Split Sentence Act, § 15-18-8, Ala.Code 1975, Booker's sentence was suspended and he was ordered to serve 36 months in prison, followed by 60 months of supervised probation. He was also ordered to pay a $100 assessment to the crime...
