David Murrell was charged and convicted of committing five counts of reckless injury in connection with a shooting that took place on October 25, 1993, in a nightclub known as the Roxbury Club, located in the City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After a five-day trial, the jury found Murrell guilty on all counts.
