Defendant, Clifford P. James, was charged by bill of information with aggravated incest, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:78.1. He pleaded not guilty. The defendant was tried by a six-person jury and found guilty of the responsive offense of attempted aggravated incest, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:27 and LSA-R.S. 14:78.1. The trial court denied the defendant's motions for new trial and for postverdict judgment of acquittal and sentenced defendant to ten years...
