Defendant Rondout Valley Central School District (hereinafter the District) contracted with plaintiff to perform roof construction at two of the District's school buildings. In the course of the work, plaintiff installed a temporary drainage system that proved inadequate to prevent heavy rainstorms from causing damage to one of the buildings. Within a few days, on August 18, 1999, the parties met to discuss the water leakage and plaintiff agreed to be responsible...
