Ethan Dorsey was convicted of the felony murders of Richard Cary and Scott Williams and of robbery. With regard to each of those convictions, the trial court sentenced Dorsey to life imprisonment; the sentences were to run consecutively. Dorsey was also convicted of the capital offense of murdering Timothy Bryan Crane, a 13-year-old. See § 13A-5-40(a)(15), Ala.Code 1975.
