Tried by a jury, Willie Clarence Rowe was convicted of rape. He appeals, arguing that the court erred in (i) admitting evidence of an earlier attempt by Rowe to rape a different victim, (ii) instructing the jury regarding that evidence, (iii) admitting certain out-of-court statements of Rowe and of the victim, and (iv) finding that Rowe did not show that he received ineffective assistance of counsel.
