Following a bench trial, defendant Frank Washington was convicted of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon (aggravated UUW) (720 ILCS 5/24-1.6(a)(1)(3)(A) (West 2000)) and possession of a controlled substance (720 ILCS 570/402(c) (West 2000)). Defendant was sentenced to nine years' imprisonment for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and three years' imprisonment for possession of a controlled substance, to be served...
