Robert Joseph Morin appeals from the district court's1 denial of his motion for a new trial after he was convicted for murder and sentenced to life in prison. We affirm.

I. BACKGROUND

Morin was arrested on March 31, 2001, and charged with first-degree murder after Janice Houle was found stabbed to death2 in her trailer home near Dunseith, North Dakota, on March 25, 2001...
