Defendant was charged in an eight-count indictment with murder in the first degree (three counts), murder in the second degree (three counts), kidnapping in the first degree and burglary in the second degree, arising from the disappearance and subsequent killing of his estranged girlfriend, Donna Evans, a resident of the Town of Westford, Otsego County. After an extensive search, Evans's body was discovered in Pennsylvania approximately 1½ years...
